In 1930, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada awarded Srila Sridhar Maharaja sannyas and bestowed upon him the name Bhakti Raksak, meaning “guardian of devotion”.
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada saw in Srila Sridhar Maharaja the ability to perfectly protect the Gaudiya Vaishnava line from misrepresentation and misconception, and represent the devotional conclusions.
